Meet Julia (and Pretzel)

 

I pick up my camera to find the beauty in the simplest moments

My name is Julia. With a background in pedagogy and teaching, my heart has always belonged to art. Lacking the patience for drawing, photography naturally became my medium of choice.


I am a quiet observer, endlessly fascinated by the act of capturing emotions on light-sensitive paper — even though I mostly shoot digital. I have always been drawn to people and their uniqueness, especially when it comes to love. Telling stories through my lens is the reason I do what I do.

I love creating a space where I feel hidden behind an invisible wall, allowing people to simply be. It is in these unguarded moments that true beauty flourishes, and where the core of my aesthetic lies.


When I’m not behind the camera, I love to move, cook, travel, and disappear into a good book — usually with my cat, Pretzel.
